History

The history of Sabores Aztecas begins in the year of 1971, when Don Antonio Madrazo acquires three  ranches dedicated to the livestock breeding in San Miguel of Allende, Guanajuato.

In the beginning, Don Antonio and their family  began to use the derivates of the livestock and they manufactured cream and butter in a homemade laboratory.  Don Antonio's idea was to work the earth and he began to sow peaches and apples, which were sold in the fresh produce market.

As another business alternative and with the help of his son Patricio and his  daughter in law, they began to sell in San Miguel town jars of pears, peaches and guavas in syrup.  Two years later they integrated jalapeños, serranos and chipotle peppers to their line of products.

In 1976, they planted asparagus in order to export them to Europe. They installed  lines of production to process them and this became their main export product.

In 1979, the company traded the asparagus in the German , French and Swiss markets, through importers and distributors.  In the same year, the group started up the export of products with self-service store chains and specialized trades of food in the United States and Europe.

In the year of 1990,  Sabores Aztecas, as a sale strategy,  introduced to the domestic market the  "San Miguel" brand,  which very soon became the most prestigious brand of specialized vegetables and fruits in Mexico.
